Here is what you can expect this month:

In English class, students will be displaying their final personal narratives books at a morning workshare on February 11th.

Students will review nouns, pronouns and adjectives before moving on to our next part of speech - verbs. In addition, we will begin our MCAS preparation, as the ELA MCAS tests are in March. Finally, we will begin our Midsummer Night's Dream unit, one of my personal favorites. Students will learn about Shakespeare and his time, and then will learn about the plot of the play, and the play WITHIN the play. This unit is a lot of fun! I encourage you to talk with your children about what we are doing with this unit.

In history, have finished reading the Constitution, and will be presenting their amendment projects prior to vacation. After vacation will we take the town-wide Constitution common assessment before moving on to study the first presidents, Washington, Adams and Jefferson. Students will begin taking a daily "roll call" after vacation. Encourage them to tell you about it.

February's map is South America. The quiz will be on February 26th.

January's monthly map is Africa. The quiz will be on January 29th.
